Plant Layout and Consulting
Kaizen Assembly offers onsite assistance in drafting your plant or factory layout. An updated factory floor layout is crucial during a lean journey. As improvements are made, new products and equipment are brought in, and floor space use changes, the layout will be used as road map for improvements. We can set up the current layout using AutoCAD and assist in updates and recommendations. Drafting support can vary widely based on the needs of the customer.
Work Instructions and Operating Procedures
Clients often have the need for a resource to help create work instructions and procedures. Kaizen Assembly offers this service. Our approach to work instructions is very lean in itself, with the use of icons, symbols, and other visual references, we can accommodate ESL, those who are color blind (to some level), and significantly reduce the amount of paperwork needed. Along with this service, our manufacturing engineers can come up with customized approaches to presenting these documents at point of use in the work stations.
Flow Analysis and Data Collection
Lean manufacturing is data driven. To help in improvement initiatives, collecting what we call “the current state” is vital to improvements. This data collection could involve, time and motion studies, analyzing setup and changeover times, analyzing walking and travel distance, flow of material, and build sequence steps. This resource is often hard to identify for some clients and we offer this assistance.
Customized Workstation Design and Odds/Ends
This is a unique offering. Often buying items out of a catalog for improvements to your processes does not provide the customized solution. Companies can be stuck with industry size, shapes, and installation requirements. Our staff of manufacturing engineers can be involved at the micro level of improvements providing a variety of customizing needs. The possibilities are almost endless. Fixtures, jigs, carts, work instruction holders, tooling, customized tool holders, etc, etc. Often after data collection, the consultant will rely on this person to come with more detailed solutions to improve flow and reduce cycle times.
Kaizen Assembly is dedicated to providing the right solutions for our customers at a price that is reasonable.
